Attending a conference for the first time can be overwhelming. I.C.E. is a friendly and welcoming community. We’re happy you’ll be joining us!

What to Expect

Learn from Previous First-Time Attendees

• Read the Credentialing Insights article, Meaningful Connections, Actionable Learning: First-Time Attendees on the I.C.E. Exchange, to hear from two first-time attendees.

Attend the First-Time Attendee Orientation

• I.C.E. Program Committee leadership will host an orientation for first-time attendees in November, sharing tips for how to prepare for the Exchange and make the most of your time on-site. I.C.E. will contact all registered first-time attendees in October with additional information.

Networking Events

• Attend the First Time Attendee Event on Monday, November 17 from 5:00 - 6:00 pm. Hosted by I.C.E.'s Program Committee, this event is provides first-timee attendees an  opportunity to network together and meet I.C.E.'s volunteer leaders.This is an invitation-only event for first-time attendees.

Educational Programming

• I.C.E. strives to offer educational programming for all types of learners. Familiarize yourself with the general conference schedule.

How to Prepare

Plan your Schedule and Download the App

• The majority of attendees state they attend the I.C.E. Exchange for the educational opportunities. Select the sessions you want to attend ahead of time, and mark them in the mobile app. (Mobile App information will be shared a month ahead of the conference).

Come Prepared 

• You are not alone! Approximately 30% of attendees are first-timers too. 
• Come prepared to meet your fellow credentialing professionals during educational sessions, meals in the Innovation Hall, and networking events.
• Conference days are long. Wear comfortable shoes, bring layers, and don't forget to make time in your schedule to take a break.
