Leveraging Standard Setting with Empirical Data from Rasch Modeling

Track: Test Development and Administration

Session Number: 7075
Date: Tue, Nov 10th, 2020
Time: 3:45 PM - 4:45 PM

Description:

The adequacy of the standard setting procedure heavily depends on the accordance between the judge-estimated item difficulties and empirical examinee-based item difficulties. This session will introduce the theoretical basis and rationale for the use of Rasch modeling in the most commonly adopted Angoff process. Using empirical Angoff ratings together with test results data, AMFTRB and PTC will discuss and illustrate various ways of applying informative data from Rasch modeling to facilitate the traditional Angoff process.
