Current State of AI in Testing

Track: Credentialing Innovations

Session Number: 6118
Date: Tue, Nov 19th, 2019
Time: 12:30 PM - 12:45 PM

Description:

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in testing might sound like a cutting-edge concept, but it has been around in the field of testing for many years. Computer-adaptive testing, for example, is at least 40 years old. These days, the application of AI in testing seems to be accelerating, sometimes with unintended consequences. This presentation will take the audience through a brief tour of the past, present, and potential future uses of AI in testing.  By having a clear picture of the current state of AI in testing via real-world examples being used today, attendees will be better equipped to identify what is real vs. just hype. We will also provide a quick dive into Machine Learning, which is powering many of these new AI applications. Because new applications in AI continue to be invented, it is in everyone's best interest to develop AI literacy. Therefore, recommendations and resources for learning more about these new technologies will also be provided.
