Managing and Communicating Program Changes Necessary to Ensure Alignment to the NCCA Standards
Track: Marketing and Communication
As programs evaluate against the NCCA standards in anticipation of accreditation or reaccreditation, they may discover the need to make program changes in order to ensure compliance. This session will detail one such program’s journey in relation to NCCA Standard 21. Initially, there was substantial concern among the organization’s board members regarding the need for the program change and the effect it would have on potential candidates, who would no longer be receiving immediate score reports on the administration of a new form. However, the program concluded that the need for accreditation outweighed the need for immediate score reporting and began implementing recommended changes. The presenters will share strategies they took to gain acceptance within the organization regarding this program change. They will then share strategies used to communicate the change, including its importance and effect, to candidates.
