This 2017 E-Poster, a follow-up to the 2016 ICE conference submission, provides a current snapshot of credentialing industry leadership attitudes / perceptions regarding the state of the industry and any disruptive forces (such as innovation challenges, quality, privileging concerns within multiple domains: economic, social, regulatory, and technological). Several questions will be explored in this analysis:

  • What are the common economic, social, regulatory, and technological forces which disrupt NCAA accredited U.S. credentialing organizations?
  • How do these forces shape credentialing attitudes and certification perceptions?
  • In what ways do these forces affect labor market credential value?

The intent of the E-Poster is to embolden practice and strategic planning for credentialing communities. Coupled with the data from 2016, this 2017 research will provide insight into current trends, yield recommendations for the future, and establish industry benchmarks. The comparison and contrast of 2016 & 2017 SWOT results offers viewers a competitive advantage for future planning activities.
