What? Another Survey? Methods to enhance job analysis response integrity.
Track: Test Development and Administration
The session organizer will begin with a brief overview of the typical job analysis study process used for many nursing specialty certification examinations. Representatives of two certification organizations will the describe the intent of several job analysis projects recently completed for their examination programs, including a brief history of the programs and a focus on discussions held to design processes that generate the most useful data. While not a controlled research study, the results of several recent job analysis projects will be shared, providing information about factors that may have helped generate more responses, and responses with greater integrity. The use of crowdsourcing as another method of gathering, verifying, and using job analysis survey data will also be described. Knowing that many members of the audience may have experience with job analysis projects, ample time will be held for questions and observations about other methods of improving job analysis results, with a discussion facilitated by the session organizer.
