Both NCCA and ISO 17024 standards require demonstration of continuous quality improvement (CQI), with requirements for regular review. These requirements include oversight of contracted work, qualified staff, mechanisms for ensuring that errors are prevented/corrected, and promoting consistent implementation of essential certification program activities. ISO 17024 also requires implementation of a quality management system, with top management support and involvement. But beyond these requirements for accreditation, why does CQI matter? And what quality principles and methodologies are applicable to various activities of your certification program(s)?
